Ryan’s love for classic wooden boats started when he served as Deckhand aboard “America” – a 1965, 75’ Trumpy classic yacht. He spent the summer of 2011 in Sag Harbor, Long Island working on the never-ending projects to keep her safe, operable, and beautiful – varnishing, woodwork, metal polishing, and engine room upgrades. He marveled at how “she” had adoring looks wherever they traveled and of the many memories created onboard. This led into the purchase of his first wooden boat, a 16.5’ 1959 Lyman, and developed into what VBC is today.
